Xiaomi has been rolling out the stable Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update for weeks. The rollout started with flagship phones before arriving on mid-range phones in the last few days. It has been one bug report to another since then, and now Redmi Note 13 and Redmi Note 12 users are hit with random reboots.
One thing Xiaomi managed to cut down after moving to HyperOS was the number of bug reports we see after a new update. While that has reduced, it does mean issues are not there again. With a recent Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update for the Redmi Note 13 and Redmi Note 12 devices, developers seem to have missed a bug that is causing random reboots.
Details of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 and Redmi Note 12 Random reboot issues
According to reports, the device reboots itself. It does that at random, so you do not even know when it can happen, which is frustrating. However, headway has been made with the Redmi Note 12 as Xiaomi is rolling out a new update with a fix. A new update with version number OS2.0.8.0. VMTMIXM is seeding for affected global users. We recommend installing the update when prompted, as it has a fix for the random reboot issues.
Meanwhile, the company is still analyzing the problem with the Redmi Note 13 units. The problem seems exclusive to those in Indonesia and Global, with affected builds OS2.0.1.0. VNHIDXM and 0S2.0.4.0. VNGMIXM, respectively. We recommend that you avoid the builds until a new one is available.
