More Xiaomi phones keep getting the stable MIUI 12 update each day, but somehow, the company is yet to roll out the update to some of its popular phones. Take the Redmi Note 8 as an example and the Redmi Note 7. Although the former recently received MIUI 12 update in China, the global variants are still running MIUI 11 of which the latest update that was rolled out to the device, a few days ago, is based on still. However, it seems Redmi Note 7 will be getting the MIUI 12 update in the coming days.
Going by the recent report on the “MIUI 12 official” group on Telegram, it was alleged that the Redmi Note 7/7S, among other Xiaomi phones, have completed the MIUI 12 Pilot testing phase. Pilot testing is mostly organized before a major update is rolled out to the public. The reason is to have few users test the update for bugs before it will be made available to the public.
It seems the Redmi Note 7/7S has completed this phase, and the next should be the arrival of a stable MIUI 12 update. We expect the stable “beta” version to start arriving this month, after which the “stable” version will follow. Also, we expect the MIUI 12 update to arrive for the Redmi 7A and Redmi 8A, which are currently receiving a new global stable update.
Meanwhile, the India variants of these phones are the ones expected to start receiving the MIUI 12 update in the coming days. We would update this space once the update starts seeding, and we would advise to follow us on Facebook to get notified.
Note: we can’t verify the authenticity of the report on the “MIUI 12 official” Telegram group. But what is certain is that the Redmi Note 7/7S will get the MIUI 12 update.
