Since the stable beta MIUI 12 was released for Redmi Note 8 Pro, there have been a lot of questions regarding when other phones will start getting the update. The device alongside the Redmi Note 7 and POCO F1 enrolled for MIUI 12 beta, but only the Note 8 Pro has received the update, which has made users keep asking questions.
Yesterday, a user on the Mi community forum enquired about updates for Redmi Note 7 Pro saying;
I think Xiaomi forgot that RN7 Pro devices are also a part of brand Xiaomi.
Desperately I want to know why they are doing partiality with RN7 Pro Users. If our devices are not capable of these updates so kindly told us. But No they don’t have any interest to provide some information to us. They only knows how to advertisement for their update on social media platforms nothing more than this.
One of the device team members in his response to the user query, which has long been removed, asked that he exercise some patience as Redmi Note 7 Pro is testing MIUI 12 update based on Android 10 in India. Of course, we knew that’s not true, given that not even a single user of the popular Redmi Note 7 Pro in India, has received an official MIUI 12 nor even Android 10 update via OTA.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro will receive the MIUI 12 update, but will probably first get the stable Android 10 build, given that the Chinese version has already received the update with MIUI 11. It usually takes two weeks for updates to appear on Global units after the Chinese release, but that’s not the case this time. However, we expect the update to start arriving this month, and we’ll keep you updated on that.
Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 8 Pro remains the only device on the second wave of MIUI 12 rollout to have received the update. Please, disregard any report claiming that Redmi Note 7 Pro is testing MIUI 12 update based on Android 10 in India because that’s not true.
