Xiaomi has abandoned the global version of the 2019 Redmi Note 8 as some devices are still running Android 10. The device was promised an upgrade to Android 11, which has already arrived for some users. Also, the stable MIUI 12.5 is expected to start seeding as well. So far, only the Chinese version of the device has received the update. Interestingly, Chinese models have received the Enhanced version of MIUI 12.5, while international models will get MIUI 12.5 soon.
According to a report, a new MIUI 12.5 based update is seeding for the Redmi Note 8. It has a version number – MIUI 12.5.4.0 RCOCNXM. From the version number, the rollout is exclusive to Chinese ROM users. It’s a security patch built to increase system security and stability while reducing system lag. As usual, the update has addressed some issues and optimized system performance.
It’s unclear when the global Redmi Note 8 will get a new MIUI 12.5 based update.
