Xiaomi is already pushing the stable MIUI 12.5 to its premium phone, with the Xiaomi Mi 11 on its fourth build. It’s expected that at some stage, the update will start seeding for mid-range phones. Of course, Redmi Note 8 will receive the update, but Xiaomi hasn’t released a time frame when the update will be available globally. However, the device has just taken a step close to receiving stable MIUI 12.5 as an internal beta test is announced.
According to Xiaomi global community, “Announcement: Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12.5 Internal Stable testing started.” To clarify,” Hello redmi note 8 users MIUI 12.5 testing not started for all beta testers, Only Internal testing started. So please kindly wait for public beta, We’ll notify you when it get released. Thank you for understanding!” [sic]
From the statement above, Xiaomi has just released a stable beta MIUI 12.5 build for internal testing. The build is exclusive for Xiaomi developers and wouldn’t be made available to the public (stable beta testers). That said, if you were selected in the just concluded stable beta recruitment, you shouldn’t be expecting the update to arrive. According to Xiaomi global community, the stable beta build will be released to the public soon.
Nevertheless, it means the Redmi Note 8 will soon start receiving the stable MIUI 12.5 build. However, it’s uncertain at this moment if the update will arrive with Android 11. That’s unlikely, given that the Chinese version of the device is on the latest Android OS. But we can’t write off Xiaomi as they always have a way to surprise us all. Recall issues of Redmi Note 8 Android 10 update? Xiaomi only finalized the rollout a couple of months ago. With the way things are going; with the Chinese users on Android 11 already, we might witness another saga. However, we hope things will be different this time.
That said, you should follow our tracker to remain updated with the Xiaomi Android 11 rollout. And don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for all MIUI update news.
