The Redmi Note 8 is among the few Xiaomi phones waiting for the stable MIUI 12.5 build. Although the current version is Enhanced Edition, which has arrived for the device users in China, the global models have been made to wait. That could soon change as a new report suggests that the global Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12.5 update is ready.
When it comes to updates, Xiaomi remains among the very best. However, sometimes it feels like the company decides to abandon a particular device. That’s the feeling among the Redmi Note 8 users, especially those in India. Those in that region are still running Android 10 based MIUI 12, but we believe Xiaomi will roll out new upgrades in the coming weeks.
Perhaps, after the global Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12.5 update release, the Indian models will follow. Meanwhile, the update will arrive as MIUI 12.5.1.0 RCOMIXM, and from the build number, it’s based on Android 11. That’s for the global users, and hopefully, we will get more information on the Indian ROM in the coming days.
Unfortunately, it’s unclear when Xiaomi plans to release the update. But given that the build is ready, we expect the Mi Pilots rollout in the coming days. Once that happens, it will take a few days before it gets to the public. To know when the update becomes available, you should keep an eye on our tracker page.
