It’s now looking more likely that the Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update won’t be arriving this month as predicted by the Russian tracker. Hopes were raised when the Note 8T started receiving the update a couple of days ago, but it seems the build needs some optimization before it’s finally released to the public.
We may not see the Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update start arriving this month again, but we can finally expect the update next month. According to Alvis Tse, Xiaomi executive in Indonesia, the Stable MIUI 12 update for the global version of Redmi Note 8 needs some optimization. If everything goes smoothly, we are expected to see the update start hitting eligible devices next month, according to the executive.
However, it’s not the first time we have heard something like that. It was even the same executive that alleged the update to arrive in July, and we are now in October, yet nothing. Nevertheless, we expect things to be different this time, given the progress that has been made in recent times.
Also, considering that the update has arrived for the Chinese models and the Redmi Note 8T, which shares the same development has received the update, it’s now more likely that we’re going to see the update next month.
As for a particular date to expect the Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update, the executive didn’t provide any. However, we expect the update to start arriving in early November, at least for the beta testers. We’ll also be on the lookout for additional information in case the update starts seeding before the new November ETA.
Meanwhile, for the Chinese users of the device, you can download the ROM from this link, and if your device is the Redmi Note 8T, the ROM is available for download here.
