While Google is already planning on releasing the stable version of Android 12, Xiaomi is yet to finalize the Android 11 rollout. The company is not totally off the pace as there are many phones to upgrade, and so far, they have been doing a nice job. And with the Redmi Note 8T Android 11 update now available, only a few phones remain to be upgraded before the rollout is completed. However, the rollout is limited to Mi Pilots but will start seeding for the public in the next few days.
We anticipated the Redmi Note 8T Android 11 update to start seeding anything this month. Aside from the early report that suggested so, the device received a stable update a while ago, which fortifies the device for the current upgrade. And as expected, the update is now seeding for the European users but will soon extend to other regions.
Meanwhile, the update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.0.2.0 RCXEUXM. It comes along with a stable MIUI based on Android 11, a new security patch level to increase system security and stability. Apparently, the build has improved performance, but you might need to perform a factory reset after upgrading your device. According to early Android 11 adopters, they had to reset their phones after upgrading to address some lag and glitches.
Also, some bugs are affecting all Xiaomi phones running Android 11. After upgrading to Android 11, you will be unable to use third-party launchers on gestures, and hence, you will have to revert to the system launcher. Also, the chat bubble turns square, and it lags in some cases. That said, we recommend that you backup your data before downloading and installing the Redmi Note 8T Android 11 update.

A new update has been released to the European models of Redmi Note 8T. The update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.0.3.0 RCXEUXM. Unfortunately, it sans MIUI 12.5, but we expect the Enhanced Edition to arrive soon. Interestingly, the new build has introduced the Memory Extension function.
