Google released Android 13 beta 3 yesterday, marking a milestone towards the stable release later in the year. The upcoming OS won’t see any changes moving forward, with developers asked to start testing their device for compatibility. It applies to Xiaomi, which is already testing the build with system apps but hasn’t stopped the distribution of Android 12. The much-anticipated release has arrived in China for the Redmi Note 9 4G / Redmi 9T / Redmi 9 Power.
Xiaomi, on May 23, suspended the beta release for the Redmi Note 9 4G due to the Android 12 upgrade. With that, the next release will be based on a new OS, and as expected, the Redmi Note 9 4G Android 12 development version is now available for closed beta testers in China.
The update is exclusive to the Chinese models participating in closed beta testing. It has version numbers MIUI 13 V22.6.8, 22.6.9, and brings multiple optimizations and improvements. Those eligible are receiving the update via OTA, although you can download the ROM via the link below. However, we recommend waiting for the OTA as the current build isn’t stable yet.
It’s unclear when the Redmi Note 9 4G Android 12 will arrive on the stable channel. We expect the rollout in the coming weeks if there are no setbacks. That said, we will be keeping tabs on new developments to report back once the update starts seeding.
