Redmi Note 9 Android 12-based MIUI 13 build has been released to developers in China. The update is exclusive for internal testers, but the build number shows it’ll start rolling for the public soon.
Xiaomi silently changed its update policy when it released Android 11 to the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro. Before that, it was one Android upgrade to the Note series phones, but they now get two OS upgrades. Hence, it’s not surprising that the Redmi Note 9 Android 12-based MIUI 13 update will start seeding soon.
The device has been testing the update for months, but the time has come for it to start rolling out to eligible users. As spotted by Xiaomiui, a build with a version number MIUI 13.0.1.0 SJOCNXM has been released to developers for internal testing. Of course, it’s based on Android 12, while the codename “Merlin” confirms it’s for the Redmi Note 9.
When will Redmi Note 9 Android 12-based MIUI 13 update starts rolling out
It’s unclear when Xiaomi plans to release the update, but given that the build is a stable version, it should be out in the next few days. The rollout will start in China before the international release, and we expect that to happen this month. You can follow us on Telegram to know when the update is released.
