The current iteration of MIUI started seeding in December last year after the official release in China. So far, a handful of phones currently run MIUI 13, while there are still many waiting for the update. Unfortunately, Redmi Note 9 4G, Redmi 9, and Redmi 10X 4G / Redmi Note 9 MIUI 13 release has pushed back.
The initial Xiaomi MIUI 13 release plan shows that Redmi 10X 4G, which is the same device as Redmi Note 9 (global), including Redmi 9 and Redmi Note 9 4G (Redmi 9T), will receive the update this month. That’ll not happen as there have been some issues with the build.
Xiaomi didn’t disclose the problems, but we believe it’s compatibility issues. It was the case with MIUI 12 for Redmi 7, which later arrived for the Chinese models. However, we expect the global models of the affected phones to receive a new upgrade this time.
With the recent development, Redmi Note 9 4G, Redmi 9, and Redmi 10X 4G / Redmi Note 9 MIUI 13 release will now happen in August. There’s a chance we might see the update start rolling out earlier if the company can resolve the problems on time.
Also, we expect the update to bring Android 12 to these phones. There have been reports that Xiaomi is already testing the upgrade, and that it’ll arrive with MIUI 13.
