After spending some time on the rumor mill, the new Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G finally makes its debut. Well, most of the details have already been revealed on the rumor mill, but wait till you see the pricing of the new Redmi machine.
The device has a similar design to the Note 9 5G model, but you do notice the punch hole for the selfie camera is centered on the Pro variant while the regular model sits at the top left. The display is a 6.67-inch panel and supports 120HZ adpativeSync. What it means is that the display can intermediate from 30Hz to 120Hz, depending on the screen content. It also supports 240Hz touch sampling, and when coupled with the adaptive sync, ensures fluent gaming and a better display experience when streaming videos on your phone.
Powering the device is the recently released Snapdragon 750G SoC and is paired with up to 8GB RAM. The SoC, meanwhile, is built on an 8nm node with up to 20% uplift in performance over the predecessor. And according to the AnTuTu score released during the launch, it shows that the device is a powerhouse, having pulled 235,232 points. Of course, it supports 5G connectivity.
The interesting part of the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is undoubtedly the camera. It became the first Xiaomi phone to feature the new Samsung HM2 108MP camera sensor. The sensor on the device is equipped with a 7P lens and uses 9-in-1 pixel binning to output a 12MP image. As for the other three additional sensors, they’re: 8MP ultrawide-angle lens, 2MP depth, and 2MP macro shooter. The selfie camera makes use of a 32MP shooter.
Power is delivered by a 4820mAh battery with a 33W fast charging solution. And outside-of-the-box, the device runs MIUI 12 based on Android 10 and will be upgraded to Android 11 in the future. Other features of the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G include IP53, NFC, and stereo speakers.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G comes in three memory configurations: 6/128GB, 8/128GB, and 8/2566. It starts at ¥1599 (~$243 ), ¥1799 (~$273), and ¥1,999 (~$305), respectively. The device will be available from today in China while sales will start on first December 1.
