Rumors of the upcoming Samsung flagship S series, the Samsung S23 Ultra have been surfacing online before its release early next year or late this year. Adding to the earlier surfaced tweaks, it is said the S23 will house Samsung’s new 200MP camera sensor. What an amazing feat from the Korean tech giant.
Following some development of the new camera sensor by the Korean brand last week, this should be a clue that no other than the Galaxy S23 Ultra will bear the sleek hardware component. According to Ice Universe, Samsung’s new 200MP camera sensor is expected to be installed on the upcoming S flagship scheduled for debut next year.
Samsung introduced the 108MP cameras with the ISOCELL HMX on the Mi Note 10 in 2019. And after this, the predecessors of the S23 followed suit housing the 108MP camera sensor, speaking of the S20 ultra, S21 ultra, S22 ultra, and even the Note 20 ultra. Also joining the 108MP gang as rumored is the soon to debut Galaxy Fold 4.
However, this Samsung’s new 200MP camera sensor is different from what we are used to. It is even different from the ISOCELL HP1 expected on the Motorola Frontier 22. The new camera sensor is branded as an ISOCELL HP3. The sensor should be equipped with a 1/1.22-inch sensor size plus a 16-in-1 binning. This would prove to be a major upgrade from Samsung.

Apart from Samsung’s new 200MP camera sensor, the front of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra bears curved edges and a display with a hole punch similar to its predecessor, Galaxy S22. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra concept design shows a little difference in the camera arrangements than what we are used to.
The camera is rearranged in a 2+2 form factor. The primary and wide-angle camera sensors are placed vertically, while the two other telephoto sensors are situated parallelly away, and one lens is installed alongside the LED flash circle.
