The latest Samsung phone to pick up the April 2022 security patch is the Galaxy S20. Global models are picking up the patch update, which is currently seeding in Germany. As usual, we expect the Galaxy S20 April 2022 security patch to get to more regions/countries in the coming days/weeks.
Samsung released the April 2022 patch even before Google started pushing the build to its Pixel phones. The update has since reached a handful of Samsung Galaxy phones, with that A51 getting a new security patch along with the OneUI 4.1 based Android 12. And according to reports, the current security patch is available for the Galaxy S20 starting from Germany.
The global version of the device is getting the update, which comes with a firmware number G981BXXSDFVC9. The update has improved performance, stability, and security while fixing bugs. From the changelog, it might have added new features. Aside from that, the update has patched over 88 security and privacy vulnerabilities.
The Galaxy S21 Plus users can identify the update as G986BXXSDFVC9, while the S21 Ultra will get it with a firmware version G988BXXSDFVC9. Meanwhile, it’s the 5G model of these phones getting the April security patch, and we hope it extends to other variants soon.
