After a series of rumors and leaks, Samsung officially announced the One UI 8 beta last week. The rollout has started for the Galaxy S25 series, and it looks likely other devices will join the beta program.

Samsung always starts the beta preview with its current flagship phone. It was the case with the One UI 7 beta, which first arrived for the Galaxy S24. However, it’s not always straightforward when it comes to devices that will participate in the beta preview. Thanks to recent reports, it seems the Galaxy S22 One UI 8 beta will be happening.
Galaxy S22 is eligible for the One UI 8 update. Until now, we were not sure whether the device would participate in the beta preview, but a One UI 8 beta program page has been created on the Community forum for the flagship phones. That seemingly confirms the update will be rolling out soon. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 series will be joining the beta program, although Samsung has yet to say anything.
Details of the Galaxy S22 One UI 8 beta
Samsung has created a One UI 8 beta program page for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The three phones will be participating in the preview. However, we do not know when the update will start rolling out, but possibly after a release for the Galaxy S24.
The device has been seen on Geekbench running Android 16-based One UI 8 build. While that confirms support for the next iteration of One UI and Android OS, it didn’t say when the rollout will commence. Nonetheless, it has been confirmed, and we expect a release in the coming days.
