Samsung continues to deliver on its promise of timely security patch updates to eligible phones. The tech company, as expected, is now rolling out the June 2024 security patch build starting with the Galaxy S24 series. In addition, the release is available for the Galaxy S23 series but is limited to a few regions.
While Google is yet to release the June Patch to Pixel phones, we already know the security vulnerabilities that were addressed. Thanks to the June 2024 Android security bulletin, which highlighted all the security fixes. Over 37 security flaws were addressed, and an additional 22 for Galaxy phones.
We recommend installing the update when prompted, especially if you are still experiencing issues after the One UI 6.1 upgrade. The update, aside from improving security, improved performance and resolved some issues affecting Galaxy phone users.
Meanwhile, the update is rolling out with a version number S91xUSQS3CXE3 for the Galaxy S23 series. The rollout is exclusive to carrier-locked devices in the US, with those on T-Mobile and US Cellular reporting the release. We expect more units to get the update in the coming days.
The Galaxy S24 series is also getting the much-anticipated upgrade in the US with version number S92xUSQS2AXE4. We understand those in the Verizon network are reporting the release, but we expect a wider rollout soon. The update is rolling out in batches, so it will take time to arrive for all eligible units. You can check if your device has received it via Settings>>System update>>Download and install. Follow the screen prompt to complete the download, and reboot your device to complete the installation.
