Xiaomi has since stopped organizing closed beta testing for its global units, but select few users to test stable beta ROMs before the update is pushed to the public. The second phase of the MIUI 12 is about to commence, and thus far, only the Redmi Note 8 Pro is the device on the second wave of the rollout that has received the update globally. It was believed Redmi Note 7 and POCO F1 will also receive the update, as both devices alongside Redmi Note 8 Pro, were enrolled in Beta testing at the same time.
However, it seems the company is focusing on the Redmi Note 8 Pro as the second MIUI 12 beta stable update starts arriving. The update is arriving with a build number, ” MIUI 12.0.2.0 QGGMIXM”, and weighs in at 217MB. It’s currently hitting the global variant that was enrolled in MIUI 12 beta testing. Hence, if you registered for the testing, and received the first beta Stable update, which arrived with MIUi 12.0.0.4, then you should head over to System Updates and scan for the second MIUI 12 Beta stable update for the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Unfortunately, there’s still no ETA for the public release, but given how Xiaomi conducted the first rollout, the public should probably start receiving the update in two weeks. And should that happen, we expect other devices on the second wave of the rollout like Note 7 series, Note 8, Note 6, POCO F1, POCO X2, Mi Mix 3, and Mi Mix 2S, to start receiving the update as well.
