Xiaomi is far from done when it comes to improving its in-house Android skin – MIUI. The Android-based skin has seen some fascinating improvement in the past few months, and the company has promised even more. They’re going to focus on stability this year, according to one of the company’s executives. And while they’re at it, their company seems to be focusing on security as well. We have seen some improvement in MIUI security functions, which are usually integrated into the security app. And going with a recent report, security scanning on Xiaomi phones will now use Tencent and AVL databases simultaneously.
Initially, security scanning on Xiaomi phones make use of Tencent, but with AVL now included, security threats will be detected with ease. Also, ‘Possible Risks‘ have been added to the UI, and that will show you apps that pose threats or viruses on your device. Unfortunately, these additions are exclusive to the Chinese branch of MIUI. Those participating in the closed beta tests are reporting the changes. However, if you’re running the Xiaom.EU ROM, these functions have been added and can be accessed via the security app.
Otherwise, you can download the latest security app to gain access. The new MIUI China security App – V5.5.5.-210722.0.1, brought three changes, and you can check them below. Also, you can download the app here, see if the new features are enabled on your device.

Again, these new additions are exclusive to the Chinese branch of MIUI. They might arrive on global ROM with MIUI 13, and if the reports are legit, Xiaomi will unveil its next iteration of MIUI next month.
