Xiaomi has started sending out the latest Redmi Note 8 Pro update to more people in Europe and Russia. It means the beta phase was supposedly successful, and no bug was found, but going by a new report, “Redmi Note 8 Pro became useless after installing the update – MIUI 12.0.3.0 QGGEUXM.”
According to this particular user in the Mi community forum, he received the latest Redmi Note 8 Pro update a few hours ago and installed it. After the installation, he was unable to use the apps on the phone. When he tries to open any app, he gets a message, “wait until your device is fully rebooted before opening apps.”
Another user complained about the exact issue saying only the settings app works for him. However, he can’t use it properly as it won’t let him back up his data to the cloud. The only options in settings, according to him, are just three; wipe data, reboot, and connect to Mi assistant. And for the reboot option, it takes you back to the home screen, while the Mi assistance couldn’t connect to Mi PC Suite.
I have personally experienced an issue like this one with my Redmi Note 8 Pro. “Google play services keep stopping” and keeps popping up on the screen. It won’t allow me to do anything with the phone. Fixing issues like this always go down to wiping the device data, but hard for someone with many important files, especially when you don’t have a backup.
The issue of “Google play services keeps stopping” stopped after wiping the device data, but I first had to move all the files to my PC. After that, I booted the device to recovery mode and wiped all data, and it seems that’s the only way to fix the issues of the latest Redmi Note 8 Pro update. And before you start saying use ADB for backup, that’s not working, going by the feedback on the Mi community.
That leaves you with only one option, which is to wipe all the device data. However, before wiping all the data, first, reboot the device multiple times. We have seen Xiaomi phones stop misbehaving after being rebooted many times.
