September 2022 security patch for Galaxy phones now rolling out 

Samsung has a reputation for rolling out SMRs when due to a lot of Galaxy smartphones and the brand isn’t ending that feat. The September 2022 security patch for Galaxy phones is now rolling out and it covers a very wide range of Galaxy smartphones. Here’s what we know.

Details of the September 2022 security patch for Galaxy phones 

Well, the September 2022 security patch for Galaxy phones seems to be coming in after the Big G, Google has updated the Google Pixel devices. Either way, the Korean tech giant gave a breakdown of the vulnerabilities fixed by the September 2022 security patch for Galaxy phones. 

The Google Security bulletin for September says the September SMR takes care of 24 security issues. The Korean tech giant makes the list 42 as it introduces 21 exploit fixes exclusive to Galaxy smartphones, including an exploit labelled as high as it takes advantage of Samsung Knox to “cause a local permanent denial of service”. That’s all the September 2022 security patch for Galaxy phones is offering. Well, let’s take a look at its availability.

While it’s a conventional thing for Samsung to roll out updates to high-end smartphones first, a wide range of Galaxy phones – as mentioned earlier – will be receiving the update. Here’s a list of the September 2022 security patch for Galaxy phones with firmware versions.

  • Galaxy Note 20 series with the European users partaking first – N98xFXXS5FVH7
  • Some Galaxy A, M and F series. 

If the security patch hasn’t gotten to your device yet, then you should be patient as it is a gradual rollout and you will get a notification from your device when it’s available. Meanwhile, you can navigate to Settings, Software Updates, and download and install when available.
