Google has released the September 2023 System updates, but most Pixel phones are still stuck on July 1. That’s the case with the Pixel 6 Pro, although when you check for new updates, a new update pops up, but after installing and rebooting the device, it’s still on July 1, 2023.
Recently, Google released its monthly Play System updates that brings some features to the Google system. As expected, the latest release brought much-needed improvements while adding some features. According to the changelog, it introduced Pin Protocol support for Fido2 on the Android Platform under security and privacy. There’s a new email preference settings in Wallet to enable better card management, exclusively in Japan.

While the Google Play System update in Pixel is an update from July 1, Google Play Services and Google Play Store are on the latest versions. Hence, we recommend checking for a new update under Settings>> Security & Privacy>> updates. From there, you can check for new updates and install.
We believe installing the latest Play System update updates both Google Play Services and Play Store to the latest version. However, you can still check for a new Play Services update using this link. To update the latter, open Play Store and click on your profile avatar, Settings>>About>>Update Play Store.

A new Google Play System update is now available for the Pixel 6 Pro. It’s probably rolling out for other Pixel phones stuck on July 1, 2023 update. The latest update is a 69MB package and you can download here.
