Xiaomi is still rolling out the Android 15-based HyperOS 2, and at the same time, addressing the concerns of early adopters. That is commendable, given the amount of work involved, but it shows commitment. The slow-responding home screen, which was reported by some mid-range phone users has been resolved, it seems.
Xiaomi introduced many features with HyperOS 2.0, including the Align Design Philosophy that enhances the home screen. It uses AI to create a cinematic lock screen and dynamic wallpaper to bring static images to life. These require extra resources and are probably not suitable for mid-range phones, which is perhaps why the home screen is unresponsive or slow to respond sometimes.
Meanwhile, according to Xiaomi, “the problem is caused by third-party apps that maliciously alter desktop layering. Therefore, please uninstall it and restart your device as a result. If the problem persists, try executing a factory reset.”
Before “executing a factory reset,” ensure you have your files and data backed up somewhere safe. The reason is that a hard reset will wipe everything on the device as if you just bought it. Of course, you would not want that to happen.
