One of the leading chipset makers, Qualcomm has said that there is going to be a launch event for the amazing Snapdragon 8 gen 1 Plus on Friday, May 20. How amazing from Qualcomm knowing that their top tier chipsets are quite efficient and reliable and we’re getting a brand new successor for the Snapdragon.
According to a teaser posted on Weibo, a Chinese social network, he confirmed the earlier reports from 9to5google that the new chipset from the Snapdragon processor lineup is getting launched by May 20. Adding to this, sources revealed that the launching of the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 plus is going to bring in new products during the event and will be live-streamed, at least within China.
What are we expecting from the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 plus processor?
The Qualcomm brand is going to update its processor from the former Snapdragon 8 gen 1 to a plus version and this would move production from TMSC to the Korean brand, Samsung. We expect enhancements in the GPU as that’s what we get in the previous Plus versions of Snapdragon processors.
Furthermore, the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 plus is expected to debut on the upcoming next generation of foldables, speaking of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. We also expect to see the processor in the OSOM OV1, a privacy-focused phone from Essential folks. In the course of the event, we might get to see a promotion of the Snapdragon 7 gen 1 which might debut with an Oppo smartphone later in the year.
