With what most users will get from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus, most tech enthusiasts are already anticipating its successor. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 launch date has been unveiled.  Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 was released and then the Plus version came in with a lot of improvements soon after. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC says the chipset has got a 10 percent increase in CPU performance, and a 30 percent increase in power efficiency among some other major upgrades compared to 8 Gen 1.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Launch date revealed

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 might be making its way to the technology world at the 2022 Snapdragon Summit scheduled to hold from November 14 to November 17, according to the company’s official website. This Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 launch date isn’t sure, but looking at previous events, we always get to see the successors of Snapdragon chipsets at the Summit.

For example, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 debuted around the previous Snapdragon Summit, which took place around November 30 to December 1, precisely the first day. And then the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 came into the limelight the next day. Even with the uncertainty of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 launch date, we still think the company is going to go by this similar schedule.

Expectations for the revealing of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 launch date

According to reports from Weibo, Digital Chat station to be precise, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is equipped with a Cortex-X3 core, two cortex-A720 cores, two cortex-A710 cores, alongside three Cortex-A510 cores. The results of the initial efficiency tests from notebookchecknet were fairly good, courtesy of the Cortex-X3 core.

The prime Cortex-X3 core will however take a toll on the battery life but it’s no doubt that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 brings some unique abilities at least on paper. Furthermore, the chipset is going to be built on TMSC’S 4nm node process similar to what’s seen on the 8 Gen 1 plus.

A tweak worth noticing is the fact that Qualcomm decides to cut down the number of efficiency cores in contrast with the four cores seen in most processors. Meanwhile, speaking of GPU, it’s getting an Adreno 740 GPU which is an upgrade from the Adreno 730. The feats of the soon-to-debut chipset seem to throw the other competitors off balance at least on paper, but we will keep an eye out for more tweaks till the proposed Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 launch date.
