Some of our reports have been centred around spatial audio and you might be wondering what this feature is. Well, it is a feature that gives you a three-dimensional feeling of the music thereby skyrocketing your listening experience. Google is applying the Spatial Audio for Pixel 6 and it’s available via the Android 13 QPR1.
Details on the Spatial Audio for Pixel 6
The Big G, Google has been trying to integrate spatial audio in the new generation of its devices via the sweet Android 13. Reports had it that the spatial audio will be debuting on the Google Pixel Buds Pro, and now it wouldn’t be bad to have Spatial Audio for Pixel 6.
The Android 13 QPR1 Beta – which marks the end of Android 13 – kick-started its rollout recently and hidden within this software are hardware expectations, stability improvements, under-the-hood fixes and enhancements and of course interesting features. One of the features has to be the Spatial Audio for Pixel 6. Users can now apply this feature to their Bluetooth headsets by toggling it on the Settings.
Apart from the integration of the feature in Bluetooth headsets, the brand moves further to add a toggle in the Settings to apply the feature in wired headphones. Seeing the Pixel 6a doesn’t have this toggle and the Pixel 6 doesn’t have the 3.5mm headphone jack, the Spatial Audio for Pixel 6 should be just for the USB C headphones, although we don’t know how the Big G hopes to achieve this feat.
Sadly, folks at 9to5google who tested the spatial audio on the Google Pixel Buds Pro do not notice any significant change after turning on the feature. Probably, the apps still have some integration to do with the Android 13 to give that “spatial” effect. Meanwhile, we hope the brand still has some development to do with the Spatial Audio for Pixel 6 and possibly plans to integrate spatial audio better on the Google Pixel Buds Pro and other hardware.
