Spotify remains one of the best music streaming apps around. The recent update released a couple of days ago, however, seems to have broken the app, as it keeps crashing. It does not let users launch the app, but only to limited people.
A new update was released to Spotify on Android a couple of days ago, but it definitely is not the one you will want to download. After installing the update that arrived with version number 8.9.2.169, users can not open their Spotify on the Android app. It crashes within seconds of launching the app, and you can not even use it on Android Auto.
Meanwhile, the latest update is exclusive to beta testers, meaning only a few people downloaded the update. Perhaps the reason Spotify has yet to release an update is to resolve the issue. It has been two days since it was first reported, and there is still no official fix, while uninstalling and reinstalling the app does not seem to work.
How to fix Spotify on Android crashing
Since the issue is affecting Beta testers, stable users should have their apps working. However, if your Spotify on Android app is crashing and you can not wait for a new update, we recommend leaving the beta program, uninstalling the app, and reinstalling a stable build. However, once you uninstall the app, downloaded content for offline use will be gone, hence, you might have to think about that.
