Spotify has now joined the trend of subscription price increases. The company has increased its premium monthly subscription by $1, following YouTube Music and others.
With the high cost of things, changes become inevitable, but it seems these companies are making them simultaneously. It’s been only a couple of days since Google increased the price of YouTube Music monthly subscription, and Spotify is also doing the same. The new price will see premium subscribers pay an additional $1.
It’s been ages since there was a change to Spotify’s monthly premium subscription, but that’s changed. Individual monthly subscriptions now cost $10.99 from $9.99, while the premium family plan is $16.99. Premium Duo subscription price is also affected, now at $14.99, which is a $1 increase across the board.
About when the new price will take effect, Spotify said they’ll email you with information about the new price and when they’ll take effect. Perhaps, you should check your mail to see if you have any from them. Of course, you can check your billing details here any time for heads-up.
Overall, the increment isn’t much, but it doesn’t seem to be worth it, given the little features integrated into the music streaming platform in the past few years. Unfortunately, we will continue to see an increase in these services.
