Android 15 has already been released to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) for independent developers to start designing their custom ROMs. The update has yet to arrive on Pixel phones, though beta testers are running the new OS. We expect a stable release next month, and now we have the stable Android 15 release date.
Reports have always suggested October as the stable Android 15 release date. An earlier report says the update will arrive in mid-October. Of course, if no bugs are detected between now and October 15, which is the supposed release date, according to the latest report, it is likely now.
Google will release Android 15 to the Pixel 6 and newer phones. The update will probably come with the October security patch. Hopefully, there won’t be any software issues, given the delays, as both AOSP and Pixel users receive stable builds simultaneously.
When is the stable Android 15 release date for other Android phones?
OEMs decide when to release the update to their eligible phones. However, it makes sense to wait until after Google rolls out the update to Pixel users. We expect Xiaomi to start a stable Android 15 rollout in October, while Samsung will probably kickstart the One UI 7 public beta program based on Android 15.
