The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8/8T remain one of the company’s most popular devices, but the support it has received in the past couple of months is not encouraging. When Xiaomi released the MIUI 12 build in China, the device was already testing Android 10 but only received the stable MIUI 12 update in that region a couple of weeks ago.
The update came as a relief after a long wait, and to the global users, it was a matter of few weeks before they’ll start getting the update on their device. That seems to be the case, according to the Russian Mi community MIUI 12 update tracker, which alleged the stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8T will start arriving this month. However, the recent report coming from the Mi community forum says the update might be delayed, for at least, another month.
The report came as a reply to a user’s query. He enquired on when a stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8T will become available. A device team responding to the query said that there’s a possibility the update might get delayed. It isn’t the first time the update has been delayed, which most times are due to bugs and system stability issues.
Nevertheless, we have seen a situation where even after reports like this, the company still goes ahead to release updates. Considering that the users have been made to wait for so long, there’s no better time for the company to show commitment. Releasing the stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8T this month will go a long way to convince Xiaomi fans that the company has their interest at heart and hasn’t abandoned the device.
We will also be keeping tabs on the development, and if anything changes, we’ll sure let you know. For those running the Chinese ROM, you should head over here and download the update, which came along with Android 10.
