We are expecting the next generation of Google Pixel phones, the Google Pixel 7 series, and a lot of rumours and leaks have been dropping. Well, the storage configuration of the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have surfaced online, alongside the shipping date.
Unfortunately, according to our tipster, Roland Quandt, the storage configuration of the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro is 256GB. 256GB? This is a disappointment that will be felt by the Android community seeing that other phone brands offer more than that for high-end smartphones of this generation. Roland mentioned that we’re getting just 128GB and 256GB on the internal storage, regardless of region.
In addition to the storage configuration of the Google Pixel 7 series, Roland further proposed that the shipping date for the smartphone series should be two weeks after the launch event or on October 20th. Back to storage, what makes it an even bigger disappointment is the fact that its predecessor, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro get max storage of 256GB and 512GB respectively.
128GB for the vanilla Pixel 7 is a bit acceptable, but 256GB on the Pro, that’s just below expectations. That said, since we haven’t gotten any official announcement from the Big G, we should take the leak with a pinch of salt.
Other than the storage configuration of the Google Pixel 7 series
The storage configuration of the Google Pixel 7 series is just one of the other rumours that have been since surfacing online. The series is said to be debuting with the 2nd-gen Tensor chip, a 4nm chipset said to rival the A16 Bionic.
Camera?, the vanilla Pixel 7 will probably house a dual camera setup with a 50MP main camera sensor, we expect a 48MP telephoto camera on the Pro counterpart.
Still expecting 90 Hz 6.4 inch and 120 Hz 6.7 inch OLED displays on the smartphones, there is still a lot of which we are left in a grey area. However, all our mystery questions will be answered at the event scheduled to hold later in the year.
