Here’s the crux of the matter: the supposed wireless charging speed of the successor of the Galaxy Watch 4, the Galaxy Watch 5 has surfaced online.
Since the soon-to-debut wearable just got certified by the FCC, which isn’t a surprise as the Galaxy Watch 5 series is expected soon, the FCC also ran a test with the wireless charger on this device. The charger tested with the Galaxy Watch 5 was the same model spotted on a charger at the RRA, with model number ER-OR900. The FCC also reveals that it is a 10-watt fast charging.
While we cannot exactly determine the charging speeds of smartphones because a smartphone charger can have compatibility with a lot of other smartphones, smartwatches are different. Even if a fast charger of 10W is used, Galaxy Watches don’t take up to 10W, but 5W. That is, even if a charger gives an output of more than 10W, Galaxy Watches can’t take advantage of it.
But since the Korean tech giant is testing the 10W charger with the Watch 5 series, it can be that the brand has something up its sleeve. And even if we don’t see it on the Galaxy Watch 5 series, we might get to see it on future models.
Some other revealed details of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5
Rumors of the build material of the expected smartwatch surfaced weeks ago alongside expected variants and even battery life. We’re expecting three variants, allegedly the Classic, Pro, and Vanilla versions of the watch, although this fact is still in the air.
Galaxy Watch 5 Pro might house a tougher glass plus a lightweight but durable case and sources proposed that the series generally have a bigger battery than its predecessor. However, let every detail be taken with a pinch of salt till the device makes its way to the world of tech.
