Not only does the Big G, Google, have a reputation for birthing interesting pieces of tech to be explored by the Android community, but they also showcase their prowess in smart home products as well. The 2nd-gen of Nest Doorbell will be debuting soon.
This isn’t the first time we would be hearing of the 2nd-gen of Nest Doorbell as Google made an announcement about a year ago on a plan to initiate something of this sort. The physical piece of the 2nd-gen of Nest Doorbell has surfaced online via the latest Google Home app.
Further details on the 2nd-gen of Nest Doorbell
Well, the new Google Home app – version 2.58 – was released on the Google Play Store not long ago and it shared pictures of the new Nest Doorbell which is in a way similar to the one we’re familiar with. The piece comprises two circles at the top and bottom with the top housing the camera and the bottom bearing the ringer. There’s notably the G logo dented in between the two circles.
A highlight difference between the 2nd-gen of Nest Doorbell and the current is that while the latter is a battery model, the former is wired, thicker and shorter. Apart from the Doorbell, there’s the baseplate on where the doorbell will be attached and of course the wedge for a “different mounting angle”.
Speaking on features, sources haven’t obtained many features other than the fact that the 2nd-gen of Nest Doorbell will be offering a “24/7 video history recording” compared to the current which offers just event-based history. Well, we’ll keep an eye out for more tweaks as regards this hardware and keep you posted should any feature pop up.
