We’ve got the Tensor G2 debuting on the just released Pixel 7 series which is said to be bringing the best picture quality yet on Pixel. In preparation for the next generation of Pixel smartphones, Google has got the Google Tensor G3 chip up their sleeve which might now take the title “the best picture quality yet on Pixel”
What’s with the Google Tensor G3 chip?
According to reports from WinFuture, the Google Tensor G3 bears the codename Zuma and the chip will be taking up the same modem on the Google Pixel 7, however, with Samsung’s latest chip development- yes, Samsung will be involved in the Google Tensor G3 chip manufacturing process.
The Exynos 2300 (being the chip that G3 will be getting development pieces from) is still under active manufacturing even if it isn’t taking much of the S23 market share – rather Snapdragon.
That said, Big G hasn’t mentioned any specific changes that have been made to this chip. Although, Kuba Wojciechowski mentioned that the Google Tensor G3 chip will be based on a 3nm process – for reference, the G2 is a 5 nm process.
As mentioned earlier, the modem on the G3 is that on the G2 which seemed to impressively improve compared to the Tensor on Google Pixel 6 series. Meanwhile, sources revealed two other Google devices codenamed Shiba and Husky.
The duo was said to house a whopping 12GB of RAM and 2268 x 1080 and 2822 x 1344 displays respectively. All clues say the smartphones might be the Google Pixel 8 series with Husky being the Pro version. Nevertheless, let these details be taken with a pinch of salt till it becomes clearer.
