Android Auto is a Google-owned app that can be found on the Play Store. It allows you to mirror the information on your device to the car head units. Hence, you can interact with some apps on your phone, view notifications, check weather conditions, and more. As expected, the app receives frequent updates to improve performance and introduce new features that Google deems useful. However, these updates, sometimes, can remove a few important things without improving or replacing them. And that was the case with the weather data widget on Android Auto.
Android Auto received an update that disabled the weather data widget some weeks ago. Of course, that is an important feature, and probably due to complaints from users, Google is bringing back it back. According to reports, the latest Android Auto update has restored the weather data widget. On installing the newest version of Android Auto, you can start enjoying the weather data again, now displayed by a small icon on the top right corner. Of course, you have to be connected before you can enjoy these features while showing them on the car’s head unit.
Meanwhile, the latest Android Auto update has a version number – V6.7. It was released some days ago, and it is available on the Google Play store. From the Note released by Google on the new update, it supposedly fixed the weather data problems. However, that seems not to be working for everyone, according to feedback. Perhaps, the fix is coming at random or more time is needed before the icon shows up for everyone. Either way, we hope Google fixes the issue as it has lingered. And we recommend that you download the latest update, that aside from bringing back the ‘Weather data,’ has improved the performance and stability of the app.
