The Google camera app remains the most sophisticated camera app out there. It comes with fascinating features that make each shot look amazing, and that’s one of the reasons many smartphone enthusiasts desire it. Naturally, the app only works on Pixels phones, but thanks to developers, we have mods that work on Non-pixel phones. However, the latest version of the Google camera app v8.2, which started rolling out a couple of days ago, is still limited to Pixel phones. Developers are yet to deploy the Gcam V8.2 mod, which will work on Non-pixel phones. And while we wait, we’ll in this post outline the new features that arrived with the Gcam app v8.2.
Features if the latest Google Camera app v8.2.204
The latest Google camera app v8.2.204 was rolled out to the Pixel 5 but can be installed on other Pixel phones. With the new version installed, you’ll be able to record video easily. One of the features allows you to start recording a video without switching to video mode by pressing and holding the shutter button. Impressive right?
Essentially, holding the shutter button lets you take short videos, but you can switch to hands-free mode with a few swipes. The Gcam app v8.2, unlike the older Google camera app, lets you move your finger to the left while holding the shutter button. That automatically activates the hands-free model, which continues to record without your fingers on the shutter. Also, you can move your finger up to zoom in and down to zoom out.

Google camera app v8.2 mod for Xiaomi phones
Of course, the camera app v8.2 is coming to non-Pixel phones, including Xiaomi. However, developers are yet to deploy a working version, but we expect the first version to roll out in the coming days. Once they do, we’ll update this post, and you should turn on our notification to get notified.
