Xiaomi MIUI is one of the most feature-rich Android skin out there, but there’s still a lot to be fixed. The users have been complaining of different type of bugs that includes overheating. And because of these issues, the company had set up an MIUI Pioneer Group that’ll work with users to solve their problems. Luckily, the group is currently up and running, and it seems they are starting with overheating issues plaguing Xiaomi flagship phones.
According to Xiaomi product director and MIUI experience General Manager, before the Pioneer Group, promise an update that will address the overheating issues faced by Xiaomi phones users. He also mentioned a Game Frame Stabilization Technology that’ll arrive over the air to improve the overheating issue. As expected, the feature is currently rolling out with the latest Xiaomi Mi 11 stable update.
The update has a version number – MIUI 12.5.8.0 RKBCNXM – and weighs in at 188MB. The update log has “improved the temperature limit in some scenes.” According to feedback, the update has supposedly addressed the overheating issue but has limited the device performance. Many people are complaining of frame drop, while some games only run at 60Hz. However, given the early announcement made by the company executive, users might wait until August to choose between Performance and Balance modes.
As the name suggests, the Performance Mode is for gamers, while the Balance mode is for ordinary users. Of course, the former will consume more power, and the device will be a bit warmer compare to the latter. Luckily, we won’t wait long before it starts rolling, as the company has already started internal testing. If there are no setbacks, stable ROM users will get the feature in August.
