The news of Xiaomi working on a new and optimized Automatic tasks surfaced on the internet a couple of days ago. It was detected on MIUI firmware that the company is working on a series of new tasks. And with MIUI 13 expected to arrive in the coming weeks, we believe it will be part of the next iteration of MIUI. That might be the case, but the company has released a new series of new and automatic tasks to closed beta testers in China.
Xiaomi has a group of testers that test development builds. Updates are released on a weekly and daily basis with new features. Also, optimization and bug fixes come with these builds, which is evident in the recent build released in China. According to a recent report, the new and automatic tasks the company has been working on are currently available for Chinese users. It’s limited to closed beta testers as expected, and depending on how the testing goes, it will be released to stable ROM users.
As the name suggests, Automatic Tasks will allow users to preset a function to be executed when the requirements are met. From the video shared on MIUIes, there’ll be a condition and a result. Users are expected to choose between the list of available options. They include opening and closing applications under certain conditions. Of course, there is an option for turning on/off, turning battery saver, turning off hotspot, and others.
And while this feature is a good one, Xiaomi is limiting it to Chinese users for now. We may see the new and automatic tasks arrive with MIUI 13. Hopefully, we get to learn more about that in the coming days/weeks. However, if you’re running the Xiaomi.eu ROM, you might get the new task after upgrading to MIUI 12.5 V10.21.28.
