When it comes to 5G deployment, China is ahead of other countries, which is why Xiaomi opted for the Redmi 10X series with 5G connectivity instead of launching the Redmi Note 9 series in the country. It seems the company will adopt the same strategy when it launches the Redmi Note 10, according to reports.
Earlier today, we reported about the imminent launch of the Redmi Note 10 5G, which has been certified by Chinese MIIT authority. The device is said to be a rebranded Mi 10T Lite the company will introduce on September 30, three days from today. And According to the latest MIIT listing, a new Xiaomi phone with a model number M2010J19SC has also received approval.
The device is touted as the Redmi Note 10 4G. As the name suggests, it will only support 4G bands. That makes sense, considering that some countries where Xiaomi markets their phones are yet to adopt 5G. It would be a waste of money spending on a 5G-enabled phone in such a region.
Meanwhile, going by previous leaks, the Redmi Note 10 4G will feature Dimensity 820 SoC, paired with up to 6GB RAM, and will have a 64MP primary camera. Of course, the device will run MIUI 12 outside-of-the-box based on Android 10. We won’t be surprised if the device debuts running Android 11, but Xiaomi might not be able to pull it off, given the alleged October launch date, which is not far from now again.
Unfortunately, not much about the device has been revealed. However, we expect some official information from Xiaomi soon, if the October launch date is anything to go by. Also, the device will probably appear on 3C and TENAA website, which will list some of the specs of the device. And once we get any additional information about the upcoming Redmi Note 10 4G, we’ll update this space.
