Most end-users of the Google devices lay some complaints to the company about different issues that don’t make their devices easy to use and the Big G released a couple of updates to fix them. The face unlock and vibration icon was formerly present on Google Pixels but it was removed. But now according to some individuals on Reddit, it’s like the vibration icon is making a comeback on Google Pixel Phones.
The feature is made available via the Android 12 QPR3 Beta 3, the latest beta release for the June quarterly pixel feature drop scheduled for June 6th. According to schrombear on Reddit, the Beta release brought back the icon on the status bar plus a toggle for it, although the icon isn’t showing on the lock screen.
Apart from the icon appearing in the status bar, there is a toggle switch that says “always show the icon when in vibrate mode” in the sound and vibration menu. While many Google Pixel users were annoyed by the removal of the icon, the end-users will rush to get the beta release as the vibration icon is making a comeback via the package.
A Reddit user with the username userwithoutaname says “wow, now I’m going to update to the beta. I’ve wanted this so badly. No idea why they removed the vibrate icon from the status bar”.
New face as Vibration icon is making a comeback on Google Pixel phones
The Vibration icon is making a comeback on only Google Pixel 4 series and higher. Sliding your finger down for the top screen will show the vibration icon if it is enabled. You can access the icon on your Google Pixel 6 series by tapping the volume button on the right side of your device and then clicking on the bell icon shown with the volume slider.
Furthermore, kindly note that the beta build of Android is not stable and it might bring in a few bugs that will affect your device negatively. While you would not want to give your device’s stability away, you should wait for the June quarterly pixel feature drop scheduled for June 6th.
