Waze is finally making it easier to navigate electric automobiles. The Google-owned firm is adding EV charging station locations and data to its map database, making it easier for customers to plug in. In other words, Waze has started showing charging stations for your EV.
Charging stations for your EV via Waze: details
Waze, an app that has often been ahead of the curve in terms of functionality, has taken a long to incorporate a feature that allows users to easily identify electric vehicle charging stations. Google Maps has had a comparable function for almost a year, with charging stations for your EV becoming increasingly common.
Waze officially stated today that EV charging station locations would now be available during and before routing. Users may search for and travel to stations, or they can create a stop by pressing the new EV symbol in the app.
While using Waze to find an EV charging station, each site will display information about eligible vehicles and plug types. Waze will also allow drivers to choose their car and plug type in the app so that only appropriate stations are displayed during or before a journey.
The crowdsourced foundation is one of the key benefits that Waze will experience throughout the life of the EV charging station functionality, since it relies on other drivers and map editors to update each station with updated information. For example, if a station installs a new set of chargers that make it more relevant to your car, the Waze page will update quickly. Waze has announced that its new EV charging station functionality will be available internationally in the “coming weeks.”
