More and more features for one of the most used apps in the Metaverse, Whatsapp. The WhatsApp group limit has been extended to 1024 participants. Earlier, we got the limit increased from 256 to 512 participants, and now, Mark Zuckerberg has decided to double the fun yet again.
The 1024 participants Whatsapp group limit might not be available to every user just yet. It’s only available for a few lucky beta testers and do not worry if you still see “512”, the feature will be rolled out in due time. Fortunately, it will be available to both Android and iOS Whatsapp users.
The feature is a way of combining subgroups of communities to engage in conversations so you don’t get separate contributions from different groups. What’s more, is that Whatsapp is planning to add features that will help the admin coordinate this large group of members more effectively, according to wabetainfo. Features like a pending participant list and approval system, this feature looks a bit familiar.
Yes, there’s something similar to this on Facebook. As mentioned earlier, the feature is in the works and will roll out to everyone in the coming weeks, meanwhile let’s take a brief review of features that’ve been rolled out these few weeks.
New Whatsapp group limit is just a quarter of the fun
Extending the group limit to 1024 participants is just an addition to one of the numerous features. We’ve got Whatsapp call links, paid subscriptions and Companion mode (to be rolled out soon), new privacy control settings, tweaks to prevent Whatsapp scams, new message reactions and many more. Oh well, impressive features for one of the most used social media platforms.
