The Meta boss has been rolling out a lot of features to Whatsapp recently and they have been quite amazing – I mean, well deserved for one of the most used social media platforms currently. In addition to the already rolled-out features, Whatsapp is working on “schedule video call” for groups.
Further details on the schedule video call feature
WhatsApp has recently released a new update via the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version number up to 23.4.0.75. The WhatsApp Settings version is 2.23.4.75, and the TestFlight build is 23.4.0. (449719862). Hidden within this update is the schedule video call for groups.
With this functionality, WhatsApp makes it easy for users to schedule future calls with other members of the group. The functionality is still under development on WhatsApp beta for Android, and we noticed that WhatsApp is also working on introducing the same feature to the iOS beta app, in a future release, according to the current WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.4.0.75 update accessible on the TestFlight app.
When the functionality is activated for your account in the future, you will get a new context menu with a scheduling option, as seen in this picture. You can select the start time of the group call and give it a name using this option. As the call begins, all group members will be contacted so that they may join the call as soon as possible. It’s worth noting that the group call scheduling function works with both audio and video calls, depending on which call button you clicked to display the context menu.
The schedule video call, in our opinion, is a fantastic feature that greatly assists group members in organizing their meetings and activities in advance, guaranteeing that everyone in the group is aware of the scheduled time so they can prepare properly and there is no need for further reminders. This would also assist to lessen the likelihood of missed or delayed calls, which might harm group communication and cooperation.
The option to plan group calls is in the works and will be included in a future app version. As is customary, we will post an additional piece on this website whenever we have more information to share with you.
