Mark Zuckerberg is introducing another feature to Whatsapp and that’s to allow sharing uncompressed images. Currently, WhatsApp compresses all the pictures you send to your loved ones. Even if you choose “best quality” from the Photo upload quality options in the settings for the app, the messenger still reduces the image’s quality and doesn’t share it in its original form. If you want to exchange photos at their original resolution using WhatsApp, you must use a workaround, but this may not be necessary any longer.
Sources have discovered the feature of sharing uncompressed images(without workarounds)in version 2.32.2.11 of Whatsapp on Android. According to reports, the messenger will include a new option icon on the image selection screen that would let users choose the preferred image quality before sharing. The possibility to send photographs in their original quality will be a part of this new service.
The functionality isn’t active in the current WhatsApp beta edition, however, the feature will probably be included in WhatsApp in a future version, and we’ll inform you as soon as it becomes available on the beta channel. You can use the following workaround till then if you are interested in sharing uncompressed images.
Sharing uncompressed images before the arrival of the update
Using the Files app on iOS, save the image you want to share as a document (.pdf or.doc). Launch WhatsApp, choose your preferred contact, and then click the + sign to upload an attachment. Select the file you saved in the Files app by choosing Document instead of Photo on the next menu.
On Android, the process is easier because you don’t have to change the image file’s extension to make it into a document. Choose the photo you want to share from the internal storage of your phone by selecting the Document option in the attachment menu.
