Xiaomi 11 was released in 2020 in China and made its global debut in early 2021. It debuted running Android 11 and a promise of three generations of Android OS upgrades and four years of security support. Both have elapsed, but Xiaomi is rolling out what could be the final update in China – the Xiaomi 11 HyperOS 2 update.

Xiaomi 11 HyperOS 2 update is rolling out with version number OS2.0.2.0. UKBCNXM. From the build number, it’s a Chinese ROM and based on Android 14. Hence, it only introduced features of the HyperOS 2 update, but they are quite useful as performance and security have been enhanced.
Additionally, there have been some UI changes with the Alive Design Philosophy. You will get more widgets for the Home screen after installing the update, among other changes. We recommend installing the update when prompted, as you might not get another one.
Is the Xiaomi 11 HyperOS 2 update coming to global units?
We have seen something like this happen in the past where Xiaomi will release an update to a device in China that has elapsed software support Globally. Unfortunately, these releases are limited to Chinese units and do not make it to global models. We believe that’s the case with the Xiaomi 11 HyperOS 2 update.
It has been three months since it was added to the EOL list, and unless there is a major security vulnerability, Xiaomi will not release a new update. We do not think HyperOS 2 is coming to global models. It is probably time to consider switching to a custom ROM or upgrading to a new Xiaomi phone.
