More Xiaomi phones are getting the HyperOS update, which brings the latest Android OS to eligible units. The update has been rolling for months without many issues, but in the last couple of weeks, we have seen many bug reports. These bugs are random reboots and boot loops, which is surprising as we didn’t come across them during the initial rollout.
Xiaomi recently announced the HyperOS rollout for global users and has been rolling out the update to eligible users. The update, which was well anticipated, now seems to be avoided by some device users. Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE and POCO X6 Pro 5G users are advised to avoid the latest HyperOS update, as it leaves the devices booting into Recovery mode.
So far, only the European Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE (OS1.0.1.0.UKOEUXM) users are reporting the problem, while almost all regions are experiencing it on the POCO X6 Pro 5G. If you recently updated your POCO phone to Android 14 with the following builds: OS1.0.7.0.UNLMIXM, OS1.0.6.0.UNLEUXM, OS1.0.6.0.UNLINXM, you will probably be having random reboots.
However, if you have not installed the update, we recommend skipping it and waiting for the next release. Xiaomi has confirmed a new release is on the way, which will address the random reboot issue for both phones affected. While waiting for the upgrade, you can try a factory reset, of course, after backing up your data.
