Xiaomi is still rolling out the stable Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update. The rollout has extended to the Xiaomi 12 units in Europe. It’s the last major Android OS update that will arrive for the device, and we recommend you install it.

It has been three years since the Xiaomi 12 debuted with a stable Android 12. The phone runs Android 14, which arrived last year. With the Android 15-based HyperOS 2 release, the device will elapse its OS support but is still eligible for security patches. Unfortunately, that will not arrive often.
Details of Xiaomi 12 Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update in Europe
Xiaomi is rolling out a new build with version number OS2.0.2.0. VLCEUXM. It weighs 5.6 GB and comes with all the expected features. These include Alive Design Philosophy, Xiaomi HyperCore, and improvements. Since the device is not eligible for HyperAI, we can confirm none of the features will be available after installing the build.
However, there has been an improvement in the device’s performance. We can confirm there are no issues after installing the update, and hence, you should go ahead with the installation when you get a notification. Unfortunately, it might take a few days as the rollout is exclusive to Mi Pilot members.
What happens after the Xiaomi 12 Android 15-based HyperOS 2 update?
Xiaomi 12 is still eligible for security patches for the next 10 months. However, since Xiaomi has moved the device to quarterly update releases, it’s probably three more updates before the support period expires. It’s the best time to start looking for an upgrade, especially if monthly patch updates are important to you.
