Attach a camera lens to a smartphone? That will be mind-blowing for most of the photography and cinematography lovers out there. Xiaomi is at its camera shenanigans and it will be offering this impressive feat via the latest Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept.
Usually, we’ve got phone brands flexing their amazing rear camera setup with all the main sensors, ultrawide and telephoto, sometimes with a macro, but we haven’t seen “camera lens attachment” in any of these smartphones. So you don’t expect the Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept – bearing this feature – not to be mind-blowing.
Xiaomi will be partnering with Leica to enable it to attach a camera lens in this new Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept. To see how this will go down, you can check the video at the end of this article. Furthermore, the brand mentioned that the phone will be getting an M-mount so you can connect another lens other than the Leica – Summilux-M 35mm f/1.4 ASPH module.
In addition to the hardware, there will be some software features like histogram, and focus peaking among others that will be bringing this Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept to perfection.
Other than the camera attachment Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept
The smartphone will be getting two one-inch camera sensors and a centre-mounted camera lens that will be attached to the lens module. Our guess is the lens used in this smartphone will be that of the standard Xiaomi 12S Ultra, which is the IMX989 camera sensor.
