Xiaomi has officially announced Xiaomi 12T Pro, the successor of the 11T Pro. The device features compelling specs and some of the company’s first. It’d come with four years of software support, which might entice buyers.
The Xiaomi 12T Pro features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display. It’s a 1220 x 2712px resolution panel with a refresh rate capped at 120HZ, although you can let it switch between 30, 60, 90, and 120HZ. The 12-bit panel is protected by a Corning Glass 5, featuring HDR10+ Vision and Dolby Atmos.
Under the hood, you get the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. It’s paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and coupled with the improved vapor chamber, the device will deliver peak performance. Xiaomi has integrated a new model, which is 65% larger and with 125% more thermal material when compared to the version on 11T Pro.
And for the first time, a Xiaomi phone debuts with a 200MP camera sensor. It’s Samsung ISOCELL HP1 with a 1/1.22″ sensor and 0.64µm pixel that can be binned to 1.28µm or 2.56µm depending on the surrounding. Interestingly, the sensor features OIS and can shoot 8K video and record HDR10+ footage. Accompanying the primary sensor is an 8MP 1/4″ ultrawide shooter and a 2MP macro sensor, while the front 20MP camera sensor sits inside a punch hole.
Unlike the predecessor, Xiaomi 12T Pro ditched the side-mounted scanner for an in-display fingerprint reader. As expected, it has stereo speakers in collaboration with Harman Kardon. There are Wi-Fi 6 (ax), Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, dual-SIM, and 5G connectivity supports.
Power is drawn from a beefy 5000mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging (comes with power brick). It takes 19 minutes for a full charge, which gives 13.5 hours of screen-on time.
Xiaomi 12T Pro price and availability
Xiaomi 12T Pro price starts at €750 for the base 8/128GB version. The 8/256GB models will go for €800, while the 12/256GB variants start at €850. You can grab the device in Silver, Black, and Blue colors, starting from October 13 on the official Xiaomi stores.
Xiaomi 12T Pro software support
Of course, the Xiaomi 12T Pro will run MIUI 13 outside of the box based on Android 12. According to Xiaomi, the device will get four years of security support and three Android OS upgrades. That makes the device eligible for Android 15, with support ending in 2016.
