Xiaomi is among the OEMs that started testing the Android 12 after the first Android 12 beta 1. The company is looking to release the stable version in the coming weeks. With that in mind, the company has intensified testing and has since released a beta MIUI based Android 12 update to closed beta testers in China. Of course, the global users are part of the testing as the Mi 11i, Mi 11, and Mi 11 Ultra have all received Android 12 based MIUI update. However, the Chinese users, especially the closed beta groups, have more devices testing Android 12.
According to a recent report, the Xiaomi Civi and Mi 10 Ultra Android 12 beta has been released to the closed beta group. The latest Android OS is part of the recent weekly/basis closed beta build. It has a version number – MIUI 12.11.15 – and comes with features of the new Android OS. However, you might not notice some of them because of MIUI, but you’d get the dedicated security dashboard to adjust app permission.
Unfortunately, only the closed beta group members can install the current update. It would be impossible to flash via TWRP Recovery as it doesn’t support Android 12 yet. Also, there’s no Fastboot ROM, and that makes it impossible for a clean flash. However, with the build now available for closed beta testers, it wouldn’t be long before the stable users get the update. And with the company working to start the rollout in the coming weeks, we anticipate a stable release soon.
That said, if you’re among the closed beta group, you should get the OTA in the coming days. Otherwise, you can download the ROM using the links below.
