First, we apologize for the update we made some days ago with a misleading headline “Xiaomi MI A3 Android update.” We never said the Android 10 for Mi A3 has started arriving but was only referring to an alleged Changelog that was spotted on Mi community forum. We are sorry for any inconveniences the post must have caused as we aim to give you credible updates on Xiaomi phones.
But even Xiaomi doesn’t know when the Android 10 for Mi A3 will arrive. Xiaomi France believes the update will arrive in March. Meanwhile, as far back as August 2019, Xiaomi VP and Manu Kamar, Xiaomi Indian MD, promise the device will be among the first few devices to receive the Android 10 update. Well, seven months after they said that Android 10 for Mi A3 is yet to arrive.
Meanwhile, before the March time frame by Xiaomi France, the Indian counterpart already promised mid-February to roll out the update, and it’s just five days to March. And just yesterday again, the Indian twitter account responding to a user’s query said the company is in the last stages of getting the final certification on the update. However, they didn’t say when to expect the update but said the delay was because of some unforeseen circumstances.
But could it be the Coronavirus epidemic that’s causing the delay? That’s likely, but before the breakout, the company already rolled out Android 10 updates to most of their phones, and maybe there’s a compatibility issue with the Android 10 for Mi A3.
From what is happening and considering that Xiaomi is yet to make any official statement as to when the update will start arriving, we believe the company itself doesn’t know when the update will arrive. And that’s a shame for a company like Xiaomi, failing to keep their words.
The Xiaomi Mi A3, considering how it was received Globally should be running Android 10 already, and this device is supposed to get Android 11. Well, that’s now under probability because, at this rate, it will get the update in 2022.
Nevertheless, we believe the update will eventually arrive, and we’ll let you know when it starts arriving, so you can update your device.
